Young Leaders 4 Ukraine
The CYLC hosted its inaugural gala in support of Ukraine, welcoming over 200 guests in-person. The CYLC was also proud to host 50+ Ukrainian-nationals who had recently arrived to Canada alongside our Special Guests:

A 19 year-old Ukrainian, forced to flee to Canada, proudly performs the Ukrainian national anthem.

Over 200 guests co-ordinated their attire to reflect the national colours of Ukraine. The Grand Ball Room was also illuminated in blue and yellow.

CYLC Founder & National President, Elijah Nikiforuk, announces the initiation of "CURE" (the "Canadian-Ukrainian Relief Effort"), a CYLC Special Engagement Program. CURE made it possible for 50+ recently-arrived Ukrainian-nationals to attend the gala. They enjoyed a four-course meal and a warm welcome to Canada. The evening's festivities enabled the new arrivals to be in community with others and helped to foster positive memories and new friendships.

He applauds the efforts of young leaders in Canada and around the globe for their steadfast support of Ukrainian youth fighting for their democratic future.

General (ret.) Hillier, Canada's former Chief of the Defense Staff, and the CYLC's Founder & National President, Elijah Nikiforuk. General (ret.) Hillier was the Keynote Speaker and flew into the GTA from Ottawa to support the CYLC's event.

General (ret.) Hillier awarded Elijah Nikiforuk with a Commander's Medallion for Leadership. Personalized, one side commemorates General (ret.) Hillier's time as Canada's Chief of the Defense Staff, bearing his signature. The other side bears an engraving of the Vimy Ridge Memorial.

The children of Ukrainian-nationals were also welcomed to join in the evening's festivities. For many of them, the gala's dessert course was the highlight. The CYLC also organized for child-care to be provided as an option for parents.
